Bill Lindner's "CC Rider" Willys Coupe INFO
Hi All!
Just joined, and am VERY glad to be here!
I'm looking for any film or photos of Bill Lindner's 38 (looks like a 41) Willys Coupe, known as "CC Rider". The car won the C Gas class at the Nats
in 67, 68, 69, and held many speed records. Lindner hailed from Rochester, NY, and often ran at Niagara.
I have a few vintage "polaroids" and a few magazine shots. There isn't too much around, despite the fact that the car was the top C Gas car in the
country for quite awhile. I guess nobody cares about C Gas!
I own the car, and am trying to put it back to a more "period correct" look. Still is a straight axle, although it's "too Pro-street" at the moment!
In the 60s car was painted a copper color. but was often thought of as being gold. It's still LOUD and FAST!
ANY help or leads would be GREATLY appreciated!
MANY THANKS!
Dave Lamb

Hi Mark!
Not exactly - I bought it "through" an acquaintance in Illinois, but the car was owned by Dom's nephew, Ken.
Best regards,
Dave

Ok, so Dom sold it to Ken. Let me see if I can locate Bill Lindner Jr for you.
Mark
PS: I do have some pictures on the site. I hope they help you.
PPS: The car actually ran C/Gas Supercharged, later called CC/G, or CC/GS.

Hi Mark!
I guess Dom sold it to Ken - there was some "unclarity", for lack of a better word!
I knew about the correct class designations - C/Gas Supercharged, etc., but thanks for the reminder!
If you can gave me ANY contact info for Bill Lindner that would be GREAT!!!!!!!!!!! To date, I have none!!!!!!!!!
MANY THANKS for your help with this!
By the way, I did have the 2 shots on the site - thanks. For some reason, the "red picture" just doesn't look "right" to me - maybe the angle?
Car has some issues, which are being addressed. All a question of safety and $, etc.! I want to keep it as "60 ish" as is safe and feasible!
Again, MANY thanks for taking the time to help with this. It's greatly appreciated!
Best regards,
Dave
