Ohio George vs Bruce Larson at Indy, late 60s.
This was when the funny cars ran in Super Eliminator. Ohio George, AA/GS, or BB/A, I don't remember which, staged in the left lane and Bruce staged
in the right. George got the handicap and Bruce had to catch him, and catch him, he did. Bruce blew by George on the top end and brought the house
down at the Nationals, with the loudest roar I've ever heard out of that crowd. Some drag race!

david & goliath ???
the one that keeps comin' back to me is the sunday at niagara when the mad kraut (a porche powered (?) VW bug) blew the doors off "hot foot" (a '65
hemi coronet)...i loved both cars and when that happened the crowd was out of control .... we always rooted for the underdog...jim
